very unfortunate

this is my latest illustration. It is now in the senior show in the hardie building, a week earlier it was in my senior thesis show. it is painted on gessoed illustration board which I like alot because it really shows the scraping of the watercolor. I like illustrating whatever comes out of my head, fun or unusual but i do take my work seriously, i stay up late to work on illustrations when i dont even have to.

very nice, I like the elongated nose on the what looks like a bear. I also like that the tree is very tall, it adds great contrast of size, distance , and dimension between the people and the antagonizer. I feel as though it could resemble our lives in way, and may show our relationship with everything. That's what I see anyways. Great work

Or is it unfortunate?

I chuckled when I saw this. Actually your piece demonstrates your view of life quite simply. And that is ...In every bad you see a good...don't you? Your work is impressive and would love for you to look at some of my students' work. No I am not an art teacher, but do showcase student artwork in my online college magazine-link on my blog-it's called Reflections. I would love for them to see your work as well since you too are a student. Thanks for sharing. :)

This also reminds me of a zen story - A man traveling across a field encountered a tiger. He fled, the tiger after him. Coming to a precipice, he caught hold of the root of a wild vine and swung himself down over the edge. The tiger sniffed at him from above. Trembling, the man looked down to where, far below, another tiger was waiting to eat him. Only the vine sustained him.
Two mice, one white and one black, little by little started to gnaw away the vine. The man saw a luscious strawberry near him. Grasping the vine with one hand, he plucked the strawberry with the other. How sweet it tasted!

I like this a lot. It probably tells a different story to everyone who sees it.

I absolutely love this piece! I could say something fancy here, but I'm not a fancy kind of person. :) I just love this illustration.
